In 1934, the architect Josep Torres Clavé designed this chair to furnish the Pavilion of the Spanish Republic at the 1937 International Exhibition in Paris, alongside works such as Guernica by Pablo Picasso and others by Alexander Calder or Joan Miró. Torres Clavé was a revolutionary architect within the avant-garde architectural movements in Spain in the 1930s. Its formal character makes it particularly suitable for hotel areas, reception or living rooms and reading areas in libraries or other spaces of a singular nature. It is a particularly warm and natural armchair, ideal for decorating home interiors.

It has been part of the permanent Collection of the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona since 1994. It is produced by hand, and it is an emblematic and iconic piece that Mobles 114 continues to manufacture since the reissue in 1987.
